Union Minister of State Shri Ram Nath Thakur visits Siaha

Hnahthial Post | November 24, 2025, Siaha: Union Minister of State for Agriculture and Farmers' Welfare, Shri Ram Nath Thakur, visited Siaha today as part of the Poorvottar Sampark Setu Programme, during which he inspected various developmental activities in the district.

The Minister was received at the Helipad by Shri M. Laikaw, CEM, MADC; Shri V.L. Hruaizela Khiangte, Deputy Commissioner; and Shri Manjeet Singh Sankhla, Superintendent of Police.

Following his arrival, Shri Ram Nath Thakur visited the Agriculture Department Exhibition held at the Golden Jubilee Hall, MADC Complex. He later addressed a gathering in a meeting organized in his honour.

In his speech, the Union Minister expressed appreciation for the people of Siaha and conveyed the greetings of the Prime Minister. He stated that his visit was in line with the Prime Minister’s vision, and assured that the challenges and requirements of the people of Siaha would be conveyed directly to the Prime Minister. He emphasized that the development of remote and needy areas remains a top priority for the Central Government.

The Minister urged all stakeholders to work diligently and highlighted the importance of effectively utilizing various Central Government schemes implemented in the district. He further assured that support from the Central Government would continue, and encouraged people to submit their needs and proposals for further assistance. He also expressed gratitude to the people of Siaha for their warm reception.

CEM Shri M. Laikaw welcomed the Minister on behalf of the people of Siaha and acknowledged the continuous support received from the Central Government for the Autonomous District Councils. He also shared the progress and development status of the MADC.

Deputy Commissioner Shri V.L. Hruaizela Khiangte, who chaired the programme, expressed gratitude to the Union Minister and all dignitaries. He also highlighted the overall development scenario of Siaha District.

During the event, officials from the Agriculture Department, Government of Mizoram, presented an overview of the various Central schemes being implemented in the district, along with the progress achieved. They also submitted their requirements directly to the Union Minister.
