OFFICE MEMORANDUM
Subject: Declaration of Holiday.
As the FIFA World Cup 2026 reaches its culmination on 20th July, 2026, and in recognition of the widespread public interest in the tournament, the Government of Mizoram is pleased to declare 20th July, 2026 (Monday) as a Full Holiday for all Schools, Colleges and other Educational Institutions under the Government of Mizoram, to enable students and employees to witness and enjoy one of the world's most celebrated sporting events.
Further, all Government Offices under the Government of Mizoram, excluding Banking Institutions, shall observe Half Holiday on the said day. Accordingly, all such Government Offices shall remain closed during the forenoon and resume functioning from 1:00 P.M. to 5:00 P.M. on 20th July, 2026.
